Kristen Anne Bell, born 1980 in the United States of America, is an actor and a singer. She was born and raised in Huntington Woods Michigan as the daughter of Lorelei Frygier - a nurse and Tom Bell - a television director - she is an American actress and singer. Her parents are of Polish origin (mother), and German, English and Scottish (father). Kristen was already a skilled performer from a young age. In 1992 she won her first part in her audition in Raggedy Ann & Andy. Bell was signed by her mother as an agent when she was only thirteen years old. She was then selected for newspapers ads as well as commercials for TV. As well as taking private lessons, she began her acting career in the year 2000. Bell was as a guest in Polish Wedding (2000) in 1998, as an uncredited actress. Bell attended Shrine Catholic High School where she was involved in music and drama clubs. She was the star as Dorothy in the school's performance of The Wizard of Oz. After graduation Bell made the move into New York City to attend the prestigious Tisch School of the Arts in which she studied musical theater. Bell, who graduated in 2001, decided to leave her college studies in order to take on her role as Becky in Tom Sawyer. Also in 2001 that Bell made her first appearance in a film that was credited to her, Pootie Tang (2002). However, her part has been cut out and only the credits display her. Bell was in Broadway for the first time in The Crucible, a revival which featured Liam Neeson with Angela Bettis.
